I’ve spent the week rather caught up with the imagery of divine wind and it made me remember this poem. After some sorting and revisiting of other old work, I even managed to find it. (Thank God for computer search functions.) I like the metaphor of divine wind. I think it attempts to encapsulate the sense of God as both elusive and omnipresent.

I thought I might have heard
my name
whispered over the wind
only to find myself already
swept away

traveling,
blowing down the road
away from all I know
and amid strange places
already more familiar

So when the wind has called
your name
and taken you down
familiar paths never taken
look to see if I am there too
